I remember when I first came to the UK, shopping was a frightening experience! Simply because I wanted everything on the shelves and being on a student budget, I couldn’t exactly afford it! And believe you me, that’s a tough state to be in. Especially if, like me, you’re the kind of person for whom shopping is therapeutic!!
That’s when I discovered Primark. Now Primark is the kind of store a lot of people would smirk at – because compared to the River Islands, Zaras, Debenhams, Nexts, and H&Ms of the world, it’s not what you’d call classy or chic. True. But it has variety, it has colours, and it’s affordable. And it’s great if you’re looking for everyday wear stuff. Basic tees and pullovers and tops in solid colours or standard patterns. Regular trousers and skirts. That kind of thing. I wouldn’t pick up something to wear for an evening out from here, but it’s great for casual clothes to hang out in.
And because it’s affordable (Most of their stuff has single digit prices!), you can actually pick up a basket full of things, without it pinching the pocket! And a basket full of shopping is enough to make your (mine, atleast!) day:)
I’ve never picked up anything from their footwear or home section though -though it looks pretty extensive.
So if you aren’t too hung up on fabulous quality or immaculate tailoring or plush fabric, I’d say this is the place to go!
